Little Shop Of Horrors Auditions!
Winter Weather Update: Auditions originally scheduled for this weekend have been postponed due to inclement weather, as we do not want to risk anyone traveling on side streets that are still icy. Auditions will now take place next week at the same times and location on Saturday, February 7 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM and Sunday, February 8 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at 166 Poplar Ave. If you were already signed up, you have automatically been moved to a new audition slot, but if you need to change your time you still can. Please reach out if you have any questions, and thank you for your flexibility.
About our show / Casting guidelines
A deviously delicious Broadway and Hollywood sci-fi smash musical, Little Shop Of Horrors has devoured the hearts of theatre-goers for over 30 years. Howard Ashman and Alan Menken (Disney's The Little Mermaid, Beauty And The Beast, and Aladdin) are the creative geniuses behind what has become one of the most popular shows in the world. The meek floral assistant Seymour Krelborn stumbles across a new breed of plant he names "Audrey II" - after his coworker crush. This foul-mouthed, R&B-singing carnivore promises unending fame and fortune to the down and out Krelborn as long as he keeps feeding it, BLOOD. Over time, though, Seymour discovers Audrey II's out of this world origins and intent towards global domination!
Casting Intentions:
We would like to double cast all 5 leading roles (pending auditions), with each cast performing four shows. This is not an understudy situation, as both casts will be fully rehearsed and equally featured. If any roles are not duplicated, then one actor would perform the 8 shows.
The Urchins will either be expanded to a group of 4/5, who will perform all 8 shows, or two groups of 3 that will split shows evenly.
We will also have an ensemble of 10 - 14, with many featured roles and solos.
Our intended cast max is 30.

About our audition process
*There will be no online auditions available for this production. If you need to join us for an alternate vocal audition date please let our Artistic Director know via email by Jan 15.*
Pre-Audition
After reserving your audition slot, make sure you have completed an audition form! You will not be allowed into the audition room if a form has not been completed.
Audition Day
Our auditions are an open cattle call to all who are interested! There is no preparation necessary for this day, as all vocal cuts as well as the dance call will be taught in the audition room. Please do not request to sing any additionally prepared cuts. You should wear comfortable clothing and bring water.
There will most likely not be a formal acting audition, as actors are expected to act through their vocal auditions. If you are wanting to prepare in advance, it would be helpful to listen to / read through the show so that you know the plot and what emotions are being portrayed in each song.
Potential For Callbacks
There is a VERY low chance that any callbacks will be needed for this show. We typically do not have callbacks unless they are 100% necessary. Everyone will receive an email whether they got in or not, letting them know. The email will come within one week of the audition. If callbacks are required, we will email all those called back! Not receiving a callback does not mean that you are not being cast, it just means that a decision was already made for you.
Casting
Everyone who auditions will receive a casting email whether they were cast in the production or not. This can be as soon as the day of auditions, but take up to one week.
