Audition FAQs:
What time should I get there? Will I have to stay the whole time? You should arrive 10-15 minutes early. Auditionees will be asked to check in, and then wait outside or in the lobby until the audition starts. You will need to stay for the entire audition slot you sign up for.
Should I wear a mask to auditions? Do I have to be vaccinated to audition? Yes, we ask that all auditionees wear a mask. We recommend a disposable mask, as they are breathable while still offering protection. We are not staging our show to be socially distanced and respect anyone's choice not to audition as a result. We are not requiring cast members to be vaccinated.
Should I audition online or in-person? Online auditions are only recommended for either college students who will not be in town for auditions, or those who have conflicts on our audition date(s). Though all auditions will be considered, if you are available to audition in-person, is it preferred by the casting director to come audition in-person.
What should I bring? Should I prepare anything? We will learn all audition material AT the audition. You won't have to learn anything in advance. You should wear comfortable clothing, closed-toed shoes, and bring water. Please do not bring headshots or resumes.
Will I have to sing/dance in front of others? Yes. Our auditions are cattle-call style, meaning the entire group will learn the dances and songs together, then do their group and solo auditions in front of one another. We encourage a supportive audition environment.
Will there be callbacks? How will I know if I got in or not? Everyone will receive an email whether they got in or not, letting them know. The email will come within one week of the audition.

New Spark Policies:
- All cast must be off-book by the first rehearsal. Off book at NSPA means familiarity with music and knowing all lines. If any cast member fails to arrive off-book, it may lead to removal from the show or recasting of roles.
- Please reference the rehearsal schedule above. Students are allowed 3 scheduled conflicts during rehearsal.
There are no conflicts allowed for the week leading up to the festival (Jan 2-11).
Conflicts must be submitted either on this form or via email before rehearsals begin. Our rehearsal schedule for JTF will be binding. Due to multiple intricate parts of the piece that will require all-hands-on-deck, missing rehearsals that aren't pre-established conflicts (or emergencies) will not result in removal from the trip, but will result in removal from parts of the piece.
Please note that when listing conflicts, the answers of "none at the moment" or "none at this time" are not acceptable. If you plan on signing up for any sport or auditioning for any show whose schedule you are unclear of, do not audition for JTF.
*With all that being said, please still include all conflicts now so that we can potentially work around them when scheduling rehearsals.
Rehearsal Schedule:
Our rehearsal & performance schedule. Blue dates are regular rehearsals. Red dates are the trip. Please note this when adding conflicts.
Rehearsals will take place in the Voices of The South blackbox theater.
