Junior Theater Festival!
January 15 - 19, 2026!


​NSPA is excited to take another awesome group to the Junior Theater Festival! At this event, students will perform a 15-minute cutting of a Broadway Jr show in Atlanta, GA for a panel of highly ranked judges! ​In addition to competing, students will take various musical theater workshops and see different performances of up and coming shows to hit the Broadway Junior stage, as well as shows that are hot on the stage in NYC! Plus- there are always surprises at JTF! Many notable Broadway stars like to drop by! This is an unforgettable trip every theater kid loves!

We'd love to have you join us for our next JTF trip! NSPA was honored to win Excellence in Music at JTF Texas in 2021, Excellence in Ensemble Work at JTF Atlanta 2022, Excellence in Dance at JTF 2023, Excellence in Music at JTF Atlanta 2024, and Excellence in Acting at JTF Atlanta 2025. Our students have also won: All Festival at JTF Texas in 2021, Outstanding Performance by an Individual at JTF Atlanta 2024, and Outstanding Student Direction/Choreography at JTF Atlanta 2024. ​Though JTF is technically our shortest performance of the year, the work ethic, enthusiasm, and passion of our JTF groups rival any other show we put on. This rehearsal process is unlike any other NSPA rehearsal process! Students often return from JTF with a stronger passion for theater and a new-found appreciation for there own performance abilities. Throughout the festival our group gets to take amazing workshops, watch mind-blowing performances, and experience the magic of theater with over 6,000 other young people. Most of all, they get to bond with each other in a way that only a JTF trip can allow you to bond. We LOVE our Junior Theater Festival trips!

Trip specs

  • ​Thursday, January 15th - Monday, January 19th, 2026
  • We are looking for participants from 5th - 12th grade. Please discuss any  exception requests with our Artistic Director.
  • Participants have to have been involved in NSPA programming before to be considered for our JTF troupe.
  • We will select between 15-20 students to travel to JTF and perform a 15-minute cutting of Matilda JR  at the festival.
  • The trip's total cost will be between $550 - $650 per person for students and chaperones. Including travel, festival admission, hotel, t-shirts, backpacks, wristbands, and some meals.
  • Our JTF price-point lowers depending on how many people attend. We will be having a JTF fundraiser to go towards lowering individual costs. See an example of last year's total below.
  • A $50 trip deposit will be due at role acceptance.
  • The exact trip total, as well as a breakdown of costs will be given to parents ASAP once the cast is selected, An example of last year's price breakdown is listed below!​
